Can I kayak on the Russian River?

Spanning 76 miles through Sonoma Wine Country, the Russian River is an ideal spot for kayaking and canoeing through beautiful redwoods. With seven regional parks located along the way, visitors can usually kayak May through September. Other river activities include swimming, rafting, tubing, and paddleboarding.
 

What wildlife can I see on the Russian River?

The Russian River is home to many species of wildlife including invertebrates, reptiles, amphibians, mammals, and birds. Visitors can expect to see fish like salmon, steelhead, Pikeminnow, Sacramento Suckers, Bass, Catfish, Lamprey, and Carp. As well as ducks, butterflies, turtles, snakes, lizards, frogs, river otters, harbor seals, pelicans, and Great Blue Herons, to name a few.
